Hello, I'm Lenka

I’m a Registered Psychologist with a warm, collaborative and compassionate approach to therapy. I have extensive experience supporting adults with:

  • Anxiety and panic

  • Depression

  • Stress and burnout

  • Trauma, grief and loss

  • Relationship difficulties

  • Eating, food, body image and weight concerns

My practice is Health at Every Size (HAES) informed, and I work from a trauma-informed perspective that recognises the different ways people experience and respond to the world.

I take a pluralistic and evidence-based approach, drawing on:

  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), including ACT for ADHD

  • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), including CBT-E for eating disorders

  • Polyvagal Theory and Internal Family Systems (IFS), where relevant

These approaches help clients explore their inner world, build emotional flexibility and live more in alignment with their values.

Therapy, to me, is about helping people reconnect with what truly matters and build a meaningful life, even in the presence of pain. It’s not about fixing someone, but creating space to notice, accept and respond with compassion and choice.

My Story

I hold a Master of Applied Psychology and a Bachelor of Arts (Psychology and French) from the University of New South Wales, as well as a Graduate Diploma of Counselling and Psychotherapy from the Jansen Newman Institute.

Before becoming a psychologist, I spent more than 25 years in corporate and organisational development, working in people management and leadership roles with organisations including Unilever, Zurich Insurance, State Street, IAG, icare, AMP Financial Services and Transport for NSW.

Outside of work, I’ve been a student of yoga for over 30 years. The practice has taught me about presence, balance and how to stay grounded through life’s challenges. I also volunteer at an aged care facility, where moments of connection, like sharing ice cream with residents, bring me great joy. Each year I take part in the Sydney Coastrek, a charity walk I’ve completed ten times with the same close group of friends.

My favourite quote:
“Perhaps all the dragons in our lives are princesses who are only waiting to see us act, just once, with beauty and courage. Perhaps everything that frightens us is, in its deepest essence, something helpless that wants our love.” — Rainer Maria Rilke
