Fees

At Blueprint Psychology, we aim to make mental health services accessible and affordable for all our clients. A standard session is 50 minutes.

The Australian Psychological Society recommends a fee of $300 for a 45-60 minute session. We charge below the recommended rate, and there is a gap fee for some of our services.

Funding and Rebates

Better Access Scheme/Mental Health Care Plan (Medicare):

The Australian Government offers subsidies for mental health services under the Better Access Scheme. To access this scheme, you need a Mental Health Treatment Plan from your GP or a referral from a Specialist Doctor. Currently, you may be eligible for up to 10 subsidised sessions.

It's essential to understand that a referral through the Better Access scheme does not entitle you or your child to free sessions with our psychologists. Instead, you will receive a rebate for each session after payment of the full fee. The rebate amount you receive depends on your Medicare threshold for the year.

Helping Children With Autism (HCWA):

Under the Helping Children with Autism program, children can be referred for diagnostic/assessment services or treatment services by a GP, consultant paediatrician or psychiatrist.

These services are available from psychologists, speech pathologists, occupational therapists, audiologists, optometrists, orthoptists, or physiotherapists. Eligible children can receive up to four diagnostic/assessment services and up to twenty treatment services.

Please consult with your GP or specialist to check your eligibility for support through the HCWA scheme. For more information, visit: HCWA Program. https://www1.health.gov.au/internet/main/publishing.nsf/Content/autism-children

Medicare Changes to Autism Diagnosis

As of 1 March 2023, new changes have been implemented in the Medicare Benefits Schedule for complex neurodevelopmental disorders (which includes autism) and eligible disabilities. The age of eligibility to receive Medicare rebates has been raised from under 13 to under 25.

National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS):

We accept NDIS clients who are either agency-managed, self-managed or plan-managed. We charge the NDIS recommended rate for psychological therapeutic services, which is $214. There is no gap fee.

Private Health Funds:

Please contact your private health insurance provider to determine your eligibility for rebates. Keep in mind that most providers may only contribute to your service once you have accessed government-funded services such as those under Medicare. Please note that if you consult with a Provisional Psychologist, you may be unlikely to receive a rebate from your private health provider, and this should be discussed during intake.

We want to ensure you receive the support you need, and our team is here to assist you in understanding and navigating the available funding options. If you have any questions or require further information, please don't hesitate to contact us. At Blueprint Psychology, we are dedicated to providing comprehensive and compassionate care to improve your well-being.
